GENERAL
When it
becomes necessary to refill Tankers as a result of a
fire or other incident, the nearest most reliable source
of water is to be used.
DO NOT DRIVE OR HAUL WATER FROM LONG DISTANCES.
This reduces our efficiency and capability of
quickly containing the situation.
Use
hydrants in the Commercial District only if they are the
reliable source of water.
Westlake
has a dry hydrant located on Smith Road in the area of
the boat ramp.
Clean
Harbors (formally Safety Klean) 6125 N. Pecatonica Road
has hydrants for refilling tankers.
Seward
Screw Products 16377 3rd St. (east of this
address)
Communications
from the Tankers going to the fill site and when
returning to the fireground is not required nor
desired. This
only ties up the radio channel and impedes fireground
communications. If
Incident Command or the Water Officer needs to know your
status, they will communicate directly with you,
otherwise go fill and return as quickly as possible.
