GENERAL
When
one is driving the apparatus he or she must have the
appropriate driver’s license, also speed limits shall
be such as are consistent with safety, considering
traffic, weather, and road conditions.
At no time will vehicle speed exceed 15 MPH over
the posted speed limit.
Special care shall always be taken upon approach
to all intersections, the apparatus shall be kept under
control and ready to stop.
All vehicles (personal vehicles and apparatus)
must come to a complete stop at stop signs and red
traffic lights. Violations
of this rule shall be held as reckless driving and
punishable by suspension from driving.
Should
an accident occur, the officer will be held responsible
for securing the name of reliable eyewitnesses, if any,
and reporting these and all facts to the District Chief. In the absence of an Officer, the driver is solely
responsible for his apparatus.
If an
accident occurs, an immediate review of the entire
situation will occur with the chief officers.
Dependent on each given situation, a suspension
of driving rights may or may not occur.
Benefit of the doubt will be afforded to the
driver. If
a suspension occurs, appeal rights to the Trustees will
be allowed.
