Riding Personnel
1.
All riding personnel on any fire department
vehicle shall be seated and belted in.
It is the responsibility of the driver to see
that this is carried out.
2.
There shall be no tailboard riding on any fire
department vehicle.
All
Driving Personnel
1.
All drivers MUST be over the age of twenty-one
(21) before driving any fire department vehicle.
2.
All drivers must have the appropriate Drivers
License (B).
3.
All drivers must understand, and be able to
operate that vehicle in its entirety, before driving it.
4.
All drivers are responsible for the vehicle they
are driving while out, and must be with that vehicle,
unless relieved by Incident Command at the scene.
5.
No vehicle shall carry more personnel than the
seats available in that vehicle.
6.
When going to and returning from a call, or
driving any fire department vehicle in a non-emergency,
the driver will abide by all traffic regulations.
7.
All drivers must leave the building with a fire
department vehicle at no
more than
an idle of the vehicle.
8.
All drivers of fire department vehicles backing
into the station must
do so at no
more
than an idle; driver window must be down, with warning lights on until
out of the street.
There shall be a spotter, in back of the vehicle
to watch him in. For
safety reasons, if a spotter is not there, vehicle must
stop.
9.
Wait until apparatus is clear on the station
before communicating with dispatch on the radio.
