The big selling feature on this unit was that the booster reels were not located on top, but in the rear outside compartments. Same as the future Engine 9 would be configured. Records show that the district had this rig as late as 1987.  Engine 7 can now be seen in front of the Antique Mall on East State Street in Rockford, IL.
