October 20, 2002 - Mutual Aid call to Win-Bur-Sew Fire District for a Grain Bin fire on Comly Road in Winnebago.

A fire started in a steel grain bin structure which was approximately 1/5 of the way full of corn. Win-Bur-Sew responded with an Engine, two Tankers, a Rescue Squad, and a Command Vehicle. Win-Bur-Sew Fire District requested mutual aid from Pecatonica for a positive pressure fan and manpower.

Pecatonica responded in 1340 with 4 firefighters and a chief. We established positive pressure ventilation and sent two firefighters in with SCBA's to assist with the removal of the burning material. While on scene, Win-Bur-Sew was dispatched to a second call for a grease fire. Win-Bur-Sew's Tanker 1979 stayed on scene with Pecatonica's 1340 to continue with overhaul while other Win-Bur-Sew units responded to the second call. 1340 was also used for lighting at the scene after sunset.
