December 26, 2002 - A call went out to MABAS
Division 8 for Mutual Aid to Win-Bur-Sew Fire Department with
Tankers for a Machine Shed Fire. Units responded from West Suburban
F.D., Blackhawk F.D., Byron Fire, Pecatonica, and Seward.
The fire consumed a machine shed with a
Pickup Truck and much more inside. The fire extended to a
travel trailer which had been parked a few feet from the
building. It also began to burn a field behind the structure
but was hindered by the damp winter ground.
Pecatonica Fire Protection District
responded with Tankers from both the Pecatonica (1370) and Seward
(1575) Stations after the first call for Mutual Aid. A later
call brought a Grass Rig (1360) from the Pecatonica Station.
Once the fire was contained, Tanker 1370
returned to the Pecatonica station and was replaced by the Rescue
Squad (1340) for overhaul.
